The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils at Braeburn are always impressing their teachers, parents and peers with the incremental development of their gross and minor motor skills; skills which enable them to independently tackle every-day tasks such as writing, colouring, holding small and large objects without dropping them, zipping up a jacket, putting on shoes, pouring water from one vessel to another and so much more.
As a result, challenging but achievable targets are set for every EYFS student, and it is always a huge celebration when they achieve their targets, however small they are. Many of our youngest pupils have made great strides throughout the year, and the remarkable progress evident this term is testament to their hard work and persistence throughout the year. For example, Paulos in FS1 has been working on putting on his shoes independently. He displays persistence and determination as he successfully does so, celebrating his achievement with a huge smile! Caesar in FS1 has been working on writing his name legibly. He confidently holds a pencil with a firm grip as he tries to form his letters. As he continues to practise this skill, his letter formation will get stronger and more precise.
It is a team effort between teachers and parents in supporting our little ones to achieve their targets, and a team celebration when they do. Well done FS1!
