The Boys’ U13 IAPS Football team delivered an impressive showing over the weekend, beginning their campaign with a hard-fought 1–1 draw against hosts St Andrew’s Turi, thanks to a composed late finish from Ryan Neves. They followed this with a narrow 0–1 loss to eventual champions Brookhouse in a tightly contested match. Refusing to be discouraged, the boys regrouped and secured a well-earned 1–0 victory over Peponi, courtesy of Johan’s decisive strike. With a semi-final place on the line, the team rose to the occasion, producing superb football to defeat Pembroke House 2–0, with goals from Ryan Neves and Amir Rateb sealing their progression.
In the semi-finals, the boys battled bravely against a strong Kenton side, though the match proved a step too far as Kenton claimed a 4–0 win. Despite the setback, the team demonstrated resilience, skill, and exceptional character throughout the tournament and should be immensely proud of their performances. A special congratulations goes to Ryan, Telo, and Johan, who were selected to represent Nairobi West in the regional games on Sunday—an outstanding achievement and fitting reward for their efforts.
