Remembrance Day: In Flanders Fields

15th November 2025

This week, we take a moment to remember and honour all those who fought and sacrificed their lives in wars around the world. Remembrance Day reminds us of the importance of peace, courage, and gratitude — and of never forgetting those who gave their lives for others.

One of the most famous poems linked to this day is “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae. He wrote it during the First World War after seeing red poppies growing among soldiers’ graves in Belgium. The poem shows how even in times of loss, hope can still bloom.

The red poppy has since become a symbol of remembrance. When we wear it, we honour the bravery of those who served and promise to keep their memory alive.

As we mark this week, let’s take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices and the peace we enjoy today.

Create. Write. Read. Inspire.
