Roman Day

27th October 2021

Roman day was a great success as the pupils learnt with enthusiasm and truly prepped for the day.

Year 4 teachers and pupils put on their togas and tunics in preparation for Roman day! The morning was spent learning about how to read and write Roman numerals, pupils gave their date of birth using the different number system! The pupils then learned about aqueducts, designing and making their own model. They worked hard in order to ensure that their aqueducts were waterproof and allowed water to run through them. It was very impressive to see the intricate designs!

Using little pieces of cards, the pupils also made beautiful mosaics and then enjoyed singing along to a Roman-themed song. After a break for lunch, the pupils and teachers enjoyed a 'Roman feast' and presented their costumes during a cat-walk show to the rest of the year group.

Carpe diem!
