Safer Internet Day 2024

22nd February 2024

Braeburn observed its annual Safer Internet Day on Thursday, February 22nd, emphasising the crucial aspect of online safety for pupils. This year's theme, "Inspiring Change? Making a Difference, Managing Influence, and Navigating Change Online," served as a focal point for the event.

Throughout the day, our pupils actively engaged in discussions with teachers, addressing various online concerns and acquiring strategies for effective management. The activities included watching educational videos, creating informative charts, and playing interactive digital games, all centred around the theme of online safety. Some students showcased their creativity by composing and performing a song on Internet safety during the assembly on Friday, adding an artistic touch to the educational event.

Safer Internet Day aimed to instil in our young online citizens a sense of responsibility when using the Internet, promoting kindness, and encouraging them to communicate any concerns to trusted adults. The event served as a reminder to students about the importance of utilising the Internet responsibly, fostering a safe and respectful online environment for all.
