Safer Internet Day

1st March 2022

You join a website with lots of cool games on it, but first you need to fill out your name, phone and address. What do you do? Never share personal information, such as your name, school or phone number with people you don’t know offline. This question and more about using the Internet safely is what the Safer Internet Day was about; to bring awareness to pupils on how to keep safe as they engage in using the Internet for fun and games.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated in February every year and this year’s theme was ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. We at Braeburn celebrated the day on 24th February. Safer Internet Day promotes a safer and more responsible use of online technology by children and young people around the world.

The pupils engaged in different activities and held discussions on how to keep safe online whilst using the Internet for fun and games. It was a fun-filled learning experience across the entire primary school.
