University and colleges fairs are events that bring together several higher education institutions to display their programs, facilities, and opportunities to prospective students and parents. These fairs provide a unique platform for students to gather information and make informed decisions about their educational futures.
This year, I along with the Braeburn sixth form team attended the annual UK universities and college fair 2024 at Braeburn Garden estate on Friday 13th September 2024. It was really fun and informative, over 50 universities showed up with a diverse range of courses, so everyone had the opportunity to visit the stalls they were interested in and maybe add on to their university list. There were also seminars about specific career paths that talked about university requirements, personal statement tips and job opportunities.
Some of the benefits we enjoyed include but not limited to: access to diverse information that was up to date, direct interaction with professors and delegates from a wide range of institutions, networking opportunities with peers and building connections with future universities, colleges and could be potential employers. We had opportunities to compare different programmes, institutions and hence a chance to make better informed decisions about our careers. We had a chance to discover new interest.
The seminars covered topics such as application strategies, financial aid, and career planning. These sessions provided practical advice and resources that can enhance our preparedness for further studies.
Overall all of the students found it very helpful and insightful. We all left reassured!
Thank you have a great day.
