Small Steps, Meaningful Progress

7th February 2026

Over the past two weeks, our Year 11 and 13 students have been eagerly awaiting their trial results, which were released yesterday. It was encouraging to see many students take pride in the progress they made through focused effort and holiday preparation.

These detailed trial reports provide clear insight into individual strengths and areas for improvement. For students who did not achieve the results they had hoped for, it is important to remember that this is a checkpoint, not a final outcome. There is still time to improve, and teachers are already using this information to put targeted support and intervention in place.

In assembly this week, we introduced students to the Japanese principle of Kaizen, which focuses on making small, consistent improvements every day. Even a one percent improvement, repeated daily, leads to meaningful long-term growth. This mindset applies to all students across the school, including our Year 9, 10, and 12 students, who, following recent assessments, will receive their reports next week.

Parents play a key role in supporting this approach at home by encouraging regular routines, praising effort, and helping children focus on small, achievable goals. Together, these consistent steps help embed habits that lead to success.

As a school community, we remain committed to supporting every student to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
