Soaring Creativity at the Inaugural Braeburn Art Workshop

23rd January 2026

We are incredibly proud of our talented pupils — Abby, Si Cheng and Margot — who represented Braeburn with distinction at our inaugural Art Workshop. This exciting new initiative aims to celebrate and nurture creative talent across the Braeburn school group.

Held on Friday, January 23rd, at Braeburn Garden Estate, the event brought together 20 exceptional artists from Years 5–8, selected for their artistic ability and potential. Under the guidance of artist Elizabeth Deng, the pupils explored the unique Cyanotype technique, collaborating with peers to develop creative thinking skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

The day culminated in two beautiful outcomes. First, each pupil took home their favourite framed print as a keepsake. Second, the group created a stunning collaborative piece inspired by a traditional Kanga, featuring cut feathers and wings. Aptly titled with the Kiswahili proverb, “Kila ndege huruka kwa mbawa zake — Every bird flies with its own wings,” this artwork will now travel to all Braeburn schools as part of a special touring exhibition.

Congratulations to our artists; we look forward to seeing their talents continue to flourish!
