Hi! My name is Harlene Singh, I am in year 9 and I was one of the winners of the Interhouse Elocution Speech Competition, an event about showcasing vocal skills by performing a designated section of a speech by a famous activist eg. Mahatma Gandhi, Greta Thunberg, and mine... Martin Luther King Jr. When I saw the poster of the event on the notice board, I knew that I had to do it. It didn't matter about winning, or gaining house points. I was just happy that an opportunity for me to showcase my passion for theatre and the dramatic & performing arts was there. That's why I decided to enroll: to have fun doing the thing that I love! It turned out successfully and I'm very grateful for the recognition. I'd say it's a good start to my highschool adventures after a long 7 years of Braeburn Primary.
Thank you! Harlene
