🏑 U15 Girls Hockey vs Hillcrest @ Hillcrest

The U15 girls delivered another thrilling performance on Wednesday afternoon in their hockey match versus Hillcrest. It was a slow start for us, with primarily defensive play in the first quarter. After conceding two goals by the third quarter, the girls showed impressive fight in the fourth period, coming back re-energized and leveling the score.

Collaborative efforts from Laura Masika, Nancy Washaya, and Mischa Alando restored our place, to finish the game with a 2-2 draw.

Special mention to our MVP Claire Wambugu, she has truly been exceptional in goal.

âš˝ U15 Girls Football vs Brookhurst @ BGR

It was a wonderful afternoon for the U15 girls football team who took on a resilient Brookhurst side. The girls were in top form applying a lot of what they have been doing in training. It was a game where you could really see their confidence building. The defence was structured very well and managed to keep the opposition chances to a minimum. Our attacking side had greatly improved with Braeburn creating many chances in the final third. Alix was our game changer scoring a fantastic goal slotting the ball into the bottom corner to grant us a 1-0 win over Brookhurst. It was fantastic to see the girls successfully get their first win of the season. We are so proud of their hard work!

âš˝ U15 Girls Football vs Braeside Lavington @ Braeside

The girls were going into their 3rd league fixture in a much anticipated game against Braeside. It was a great start for Braeburn who had 3 clear cut chances on goal but we’re unfortunately denied by the Braeside keeper with some fantastic saves. However, that didn’t slow down the pressure going into the second half and the girls were confident to push on for the win. With constant back to back action, the girls did their best to defend and keep a good structure. It was until the last kick of the game where Braeside to a shot from outside the box which saw Braeburn conceding in the final minute. Such a shame after a fantastic performance from the girls against a strong Braeside team. A great performance but unfortunately not the result to go with it. Braeside 1, Braeburn 0.

U17 girls football v Jawabu

The U17’s played Jawabu in the U17’s cup fixture. Jawabu were a tough side showing their physicality in game play. However, the girls rose up to the challenge and managed to create chances late in the first half while keeping a clean sheet. The second half was a bit more of a struggle with many of our players facing fatigue after a tough week of back to back fixtures. Jawabu kept pushing and managed to score 2 goals in the second half to knock Braeburn out of the U17’s Cup. Many lessons to be learnt but an ok start from the girls in what was a very tough fixture against Jawabu. We look forward to the next league match to try and turn our results around.
