Braeburn High School hosted its annual netball tournament last Saturday. It was a lovely event, marked by the top schools in the sport, and teams full of zeal to begin the new term. Congratulations to our new shield holders, Hillcrest School and the silver medalists, Braeburn Garden Estate. Great work by the Braeburn School’s Under 19 netball team, despite not hitting the podium. We look forward to an exciting netball season ahead.

A tough week in football for the U-19 boys this week as they complete their pre-season in a friendly against Strathmore and a tournament at RVA. The team were quite unstable in the early minutes of the friendly conceding two early goals but a much better fitting going into the second half which saw Braeburn High School creating many chances.
It was unfortunate for the U17s tournament as Braeburn were not able to make it out of the group stages. Despite the result some promising football was on display by the boys who gave effort right until the last game.

In what marks the start of the athletics term, Braeburn School took its tentative teams to Braeburn Garden Estate for the debut meet of the season. It was a quiet event, with the Braeburn Schools ready to test their mettle and identify their potential. Congratulations to the entire team for the great show, and commitment to both team and individual activities. Special commendations to Spencer Nyachoti, Bernard Kubai, Attona Matta, and Atinuke Alfred for exemplary performances. We are excited to see what the rest of the term brings.

The U15 girls made an excellent start to their season, winning their first league game together with a convincing 29–14 victory over Light Academy.
This was their debut outing as a team, the girls quickly connected, showing strong communication, movement, and teamwork across the court. Their link-up play in both attack and defence kept them in control throughout the match, with every player making a valuable contribution. The MVP of the game was Zaithwa Phiri, who barely missed a shot and played a key role in securing the win.
This promising performance sets a positive tone for the season ahead, and the U15 girls look ready to develop into a formidable side.

A very high tempo match saw Braeburn High School going into the game confidently. We conceded quite early to a big deflection but the team continued with their high spirits. Early into the second-half WNS capitalised from a free-kick to make the score 2-0. Braeburn pushed on and managed to get a goal back with Atona scoring a goal from close range, nicely assisted by Ethan Salins. We then took the risk playing an attacking style to get back into the game with six minutes left but WNS had caught us out from a missed placed pass allowing them to go on the counter. The game ended 3-1.

It wasn’t a great first half for Braeburn High School against Brookhouse Karen as we conceded 3 goals in the first half. We struggled with positioning, communication and progressing with the ball. After some reshuffling the boys were a lot more structured going into the second half. Despite their ability to defend against the attack of Brookhouse Karen, Braeburn fell short to get back into the game and score. The match ended 3-0.
