Sports Update - Week 9

17th March 2025

U19 Girls Hockey Division 1 @ Peponi

Braeburn School U19 girls had a great time at the KAISSO D1 tournament at Peponi. The girls won the first round of matches, finishing top in the seeding phase. The team would go on to win the semi final with a 3-0 win against Premier. In the final, a goalless draw resulted in shootouts, and a narrow loss led to us taking home the silver. It was a great show from these girls in the otherwise scorching heat. Carmen Smith won the most valuable player of the tournament.

U15 Girls Hockey v Braeside and St Andrews Turi @ BGR

A gloomy day for the U15 girls at the KAISSO D1 tournament. The girls managed to hold two teams to a draw, lost the final match of the day for them. Unfortunately, this meant we exited the tournament early before the playoffs, a rather resounding crash out of the season closer.

U15 Boys Hockey v Braeside and St Andrews Turi @ Braeside

The U15 boys were at Greensteds for the KAISSO final. They put in a lot of effort and worked well as a team in all games. It was a tight competition and the boys were so close to winning but fell short despite remaining unbeaten throughout. BGR finished 3rd.
