22nd February 2025
Our swimmers made a splash at the Kenya Aquatics (KA) Nationals 2025, held on 15th-16th February at Kasarani, where they competed against top talent from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda. Berenice (Year 7) shone with a gold in the 400m Freestyle and silver in the 200m Individual Medley, while Marvin (Year 7) secured gold in the 12-13 200m Individual Medley, setting a new meet record, along with a silver in the 100m Backstroke. Braeburn Club celebrated a 1st-place finish in the Girls category and 2nd place in the Boys category, marking a fantastic achievement for the team.
The Nairobi County Swimming Association Level 3 Championship, held at Peponi School from 21st-23rd February, also featured Nairobi’s best swimmers. Berenice continued her impressive form, winning 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze, setting a new meet record in the 100m Breaststroke, and earning recognition as the 3rd Best Swimmer in the 10-11 girls category, leading to a TV interview with KTN. Marvin secured another gold and a meet record in the 100m Breaststroke, while Rovin (Year 5) added a bronze to the medal tally. Braeburn Club once again proved its strength, placing 2nd overall in both the boys and girls categories.
These outstanding performances are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our swimmers. Congratulations to all participants for their incredible achievements — your commitment continues to inspire us all!
