Following weeks of committed practice, our cast of Year 6, 7 and 8 pupils wowed audiences with their performances in the aptly named, 'The Greatest Show Reimagined'!
The cast showcased their musical, dancing and acting prowess in three back to back shows for friends, family and well wishers. And what a show it was! Our pupils outdid themselves in creating and showcasing their spin on the popular musical 'The Greatest Showman', starring P.T. Barnum, a famous showman and entertainer, and his creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.
Rewind several months back to term 1, a casting call that received an overwhelming response began a series of events that included auditions, excitement at being chosen for the perfect role (and a few tears for not being chosen) weekly rehearsals, that then turned into three practice sessions a week, to day-long rehearsals, all culminating into the fantastic show that many of us thoroughly enjoyed watching last week.
It was great to see such passion, commitment and confidence on the Braeburn stage, teaching our pupils vital life skills such as hard work, team work, resilience, physical agility, to mention but a few, skills that they will not only use in the theatre but throughout their lives.
A massive thank you to the fabulous Braeburn performing arts team; Mr. Williams, Ms. Creevy, Ms. Majuma, Mrs Larson, Mrs. Barbarino, Ms Burns, and so many others who spared their time and skills to guide our pupils in delivering a fabulous show. Wondering what we will come up with next year? You'll just have to wait and see!
