The IAPS Swimming Gala

On Saturday 18th March, the Braeburn Swimming Club took part in the IAPS Swimming Gala which was held at Kenton College for Under 13s, The Banda for Under 11s, and Brookhouse for Under 9s. As per usual with IAPS competitions, the skill level across the competing schools was high, and our swimmers rose to the challenge with some great results.
Our Under 9s displayed great swimming prowess, with the every member of the team earning a medal, and placing first overall. The Under 11s had the toughest competition of the 3 groups, but pulled together to achieve a podium finish in the Boys’ category, and placed 5th overall. The Under 13s also showed a marked improvement from their performance last year, placing 4th overall, amid some impressive personal bests in both the boys and girls categories.
Overall Braeburn came 3rd in the girls category, 3rd in the boys category and 4th in the combined (narrowly missing 3rd place by only 2 points).
Well done to our swimmers and coaches for all their hard work throughout the term in preparing for this event, and to our parents, some of whom had to drive across the city to attend the different events.
