The IAPS Under 13 Cricket Tournaments

26th November 2022

The tournaments took place on November 26th at Peponi House for girls and The Banda for boys. The Braeburn teams, who had been improving week by week as the season progressed, were more than ready for the challenge that lay ahead. Both teams won two of their group stage matches, taking them to the semi finals in both tournaments.

The girls impressed their coaches by playing an absolute cracker of a first game, backing each other up, bowling with great accuracy, and batting better than they ever have done. Even though they didn’t win the overall competition, the final result was a huge improvement from their last few games, indicating that everything they had learnt throughout the season was put into practice.

In the boys competition, Trey Garner was announced as bowler of the tournament, an accolade that was truly well deserved. Trey, Magnus and Cian were then selected to represent the Nairobi West Boys Team in the regional tournament held on Sunday 27th November, While Malaika, Wawira and Eden were selected to play for Nairobi West in the Girls Tournament.

Congratulations to the girls who won in a closely fought competition which was decided by the end rate, and well done to all for a fantastic spectacle of cricket.
