The Under 13 IAPS Football Tournaments @ Turi and Braeburn

On Saturday, 7th October, the Under 13 boys and girls 1st teams participated in the IAPS Under 13 Football Tournaments held at St. Andrews Turi and Braeburn School respectively. All of Braeburn's teams played really well, putting up a spirited but fair fight, with lots of skill, commitment, energy and teamwork on display.
The girls made it past the group stages, topping their group with 2 wins and a draw. They then moved onto the semi-finals, playing against a tough Braeburn Garden Estate team. A great goal from Nerry settled Braeburn into the game which ended in a well deserved 3-1 win, and that led us to the finals against Hillcrest. By this point, our girls were battling exhaustion but still gave it their all. They went a goal down in the first half, and just couldn't get that ball in the back of the net. A loss for Braeburn at the final whistle but the girls gave absolutely everything they had to the day. Special mention to Terrell who gained the goalkeeper MVP trophy, fantastic achievement!
Nerry, Steph, Terrell and Mahault were all selected for the Nairobi West team to play the following day.
The boys played their tournament at St. Andrew's, Turi. They finished their group stage matches with 6 points from their two wins. Unfortunately this was not enough to qualify for the semi-finals. We congratulate four of our boys; Eli Kasidhi, Trey Garner, Faisal Noor and Victor Kampini, for being selected to play for the Nairobi West team.
