The Year 9 Sociology Trip - Bomas of Kenya

18th June 2024

The Year 9 sociology trip to The Bomas of Kenya provided an enriching experience for students, offering them a firsthand opportunity to delve into the diverse cultures of the different ethnic groups in Kenya. The sociology students were able to explore the unique ways of life, customs, cuisine, dance and traditions of various tribes in Kenya.

One of the key takeaways from the trip was the appreciation for the diversity present within Kenyan society. By witnessing the various ways in which different ethnic groups express their identities through culture, students gained a deeper appreciation for the richness and complexity of Kenya’s cultural landscape. Through this experience of Kenyan culture, students did not only expand their knowledge but also developed a greater sense of cultural awareness and respect for diversity.
