Triumphs at the Young Musicians Competition

1st March 2026

On Sunday, 1st March, the prestigious Young Musicians Competition was held at Kenton College. After a rigorous preliminary round, we were incredibly proud to have two of our pupils represented among the final six performers.

In a field of exceptional talent, our pupils delivered world-class performances:

Hiroatsu (Overall Winner): Hiroatsu masterfully performed Mozart’s Concerto No. 4 in D Major and the rhythmic Fritz Kreisler’s Tambourin Chinois on the violin. His technical precision and artistry earned him the top spot in the competition.

Jinghan (1st Runner-Up): Switching to the piano, Jinghan showcased her incredible versatility. She performed the dramatic Scherzo No. 2 in C minor by Clara Schumann and the evocative Colourful Clouds Chasing the Moon by Wang Jianzhong, securing a well-deserved second place.

"To see our pupils transition from collaborative orchestral playing on Friday to such high-level solo competition on Sunday is a testament to their dedication, stamina, and pure love for music." Mr. Bailey, Head of Primary.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Hiroatsu, Jinghan, and our entire Junior Orchestra. You have represented our school with grace and remarkable talent!
