Tudor Day: Year 6's Journey Through History

9th October 2024

On the 9th of October, Year 6 pupils were transported back in time for an exciting and immersive Tudor Day! The day was a vibrant celebration of history, as the pupils donned traditional Tudor outfits, bringing the past to life in style.

One of the highlights of the day was a Tudor-themed fashion show. Pupils strutted their historical ensembles with pride, and after much applause and admiration, Flower and Amir were crowned as the best dressed, showcasing their incredible attention to detail and creativity.

In addition to the fashion show, the pupils took part in hands-on activities that deepened their understanding of Tudor life. They worked together to build miniature Tudor houses, a task that allowed them to explore the architecture of the era. They also created banquet menus fit for a king, imagining the kinds of rich and hearty meals that would have been served at a royal feast.

As part of their learning, the pupils made colourful posters about Tudor sports and entertainment, discovering how the people of the time spent their leisure hours. To top it off, they tested their knowledge in a Tudor-themed quiz, competing in teams to see who could recall the most facts from this fascinating period.

A huge thank you goes out to all the pupils for their outstanding participation and enthusiasm throughout the day. They truly embraced the spirit of the event, making it a memorable and educational experience for everyone involved!
