On May 7th, our upper primary witnessed a remarkable display of programming talent as pupils competed in the Young Programmers Inter House competition. Divided into Under 11 and Under 13 categories, participants showcased their proficiency in programming languages like HTML, Python, Scratch and Kodu, unleashing their creativity through the development of unique programs. Moreover, they engaged in design projects, harnessing tools like SketchUp and Paint3D to craft innovative designs. The event fostered a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere, immersing students in a morning filled with stimulating programming activities.
Beyond coding challenges, students delved into the intricacies of computer assembly, learning to piece together components such as RAM and hard disks while ensuring proper cable connections for system startup. Culminating in a spirited competition, Twiga house emerged victorious with an impressive total of 420 points. This event not only provided valuable hands-on coding experience but also empowered students to express their creativity through technology, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
