8th June 2024
On Saturday 8th June, the U11 B girls journeyed to Nairobi Academy for a well-awaited tournament. With hands still warming up and nerves hovering, they faced a draw against Brookhouse Runda in their first game. Their next game, just minutes later, saw them secure a win against Premier Academy. After a warranted break, the girls planned their action against the host school, Nairobi Academy, and won that game along with the next against Greensteds, placing them 2nd overall and advancing to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals proved a true test, as they faced a strong team with very tall players. Despite the challenge, the girls persevered and closed the gap on the final score, demonstrating their strength and determination. Although they faced an unfortunate loss, the girls were happy to play one more game. In the 3rd place playoffs, they displayed their skills and passion, earning admiration from spectators and opponents alike, and winning 3rd place overall in the tournament.
Watching the girls play was amazing, with their sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, and spirit evident from start to finish. These tournaments highlight their talent and hint at a promising future in sports. Congratulations to the U11 B team girls, and a big thank you to all the teachers, parents, and supporters who cheered them on. Until next time, girls, keep shooting for the stars and never stop chasing your dreams on and off the court!
