On Saturday, June 15th, the Girls Touch Rugby team travelled to Pembroke for the Ndume 7's Tournament, which featured seven-a-side games, each lasting ten minutes. Braeburn was in Pool B, competing against four other schools. Their matches against Hillcrest and Banda ended in nil draws, demonstrating strong defensive skills. A narrow loss to St. Andrew’s Turi by one try to nil and another nil draw against St. Christopher’s placed Braeburn fourth in their pool due to points difference.
In the crossover match, Braeburn faced the 4th position team from Pool A, Peponi House. In a thrilling and closely contested game, Braeburn emerged victorious, securing 7th place overall in the tournament. This win highlighted the team's resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
The Ndume 7s provided invaluable experience for the team, emphasising areas for improvement and solidifying their teamwork. The girls displayed commendable spirit and determination throughout the day, setting a strong foundation for future tournaments. The experience gained from this event will undoubtedly contribute to their growth and success in upcoming competitions.
