We played a friendly game against Peponi a week before the tournament, and we also had a session in school. Despite the number of practices, we showed our tenacity and unyielding spirit and finished second overall among the numerous schools that participated.
Braeburn's U-15 team travelled to Nairobi Academy's invitational netball game on Saturday, June 10. There, we reclaimed our status as one of the top netball teams by consistently dominating the court and securing victory in every match, with the exception of the final game, which we narrowly lost to Turi. We displayed amazing talent, coordination, and teamwork throughout the matches, defeating prestigious rivals including Brookhouse B 7-3, Premier 6-2, Greensteds 8-3, and Hillcrest 6-5. Due to our string of victories we went to quarterfinals and played with Brookhouse A. There we won with a convincing score of 8 - 4 and then we advanced to the semifinals. There we clashed against Hillcrest once again, where we won with a commanding 6 - 2 win.
Our last netball game, however, turned out to be a long-awaited battle. Both teams were equally unwilling to give up coming this far. Despite all of our efforts, Turi was able to win with a score of 12 to 10. Lara got recognized for being one of the most valued players. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience and a memorable day.
