U9 Girls Netball Triumph!

Braeburn U9 girls participated in the annual KAISSO netball tournament last Friday, 17th June, at Braeburn Imani. There were a total of 11 teams participating in the tournament. Braeburn U9 team was pooled together with Braeside, Nairobi International School, St. Christopher's and Greensteds. Braeburn’s first game was against Greensteds who they beat 5 -0. It was a great start to the day and the girls were excited with their first win. The following 2 games against NIS and Braeside ended in draws of 1-1 and 2-2. In the last pool game against St. Christopher's the girls emerged victorious with a 3-2 win. There was a tie in points and when it came to goal difference, Braeburn was 2nd and had to play BGE, the 1st team in the 2nd pool, in the semi final. The girls gave their all in this game, beating BGE 2-1 in a closely contested match.
The girls proceeded to the finals where they played Oshwal beating them 4-1. The girls were exhilarated. There were a lot of positive comments from the Braeburn headteacher and the coaches from different schools who commended the girls for their sportsmanship, good character and attitude.
