Under 9 Hockey Teams Stand Out @ Hockey Festival

On Thursday, March 7, the Under 9 Girls and Boys A teams journeyed to Hillcrest School to participate in the IAPS Under 9 Hockey Festival. The girls engaged in spirited matches against all nine IAPS schools present, with an impressive 6 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Despite a narrow 1-0 loss to Peponi in the opening match, the girls showcased resilience, securing victories of 1-0, 2-1, and 2-0 against Pembroke, BGE, and Hillcrest respectively. After a close 1-0 defeat to The Banda, Braeburn rallied with wins of 2-0 against St. Andrew's, 2-0 against Braeburn Mombasa, and 1-0 against Brookhouse Karen, concluding with a draw against Kenton. Their overall performance demonstrated remarkable teamwork, sportsmanship, and an unwavering hunger for success.
Meanwhile, across the road at another Hillcrest field, the Under 9 boys also displayed impressive skills. They fought tenaciously, securing 2 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses against formidable opponents.
Both the boys and girls teams, who have shown growth throughout the season, are poised for even greater heights in their hockey journey. The future looks promising for this group of young hockey players, and we eagerly anticipate their continued development as they grow into older sporting categories.
