Under 9 Netball and Rugby Festival at Braeburn Garden Estate

5th June 2025

The U9 Rugby A team had a thrilling day at the Rugby Festival, playing six intense matches and representing the school with pride and determination. They began with a tightly contested 15-15 draw against the hosts, BGE, thanks to a last-minute try by Chihiro. A 15-10 win followed against Pembroke before another close match against Braeburn Nanyuki ended 10-10. Despite narrow losses to Hillcrest and Kenton, the boys finished on a high note with a dominant 30-0 victory over Braeburn Mombasa, facing familiar teammates like Luca, Daniel, Adrian, Octave, and Rafi. It was a day full of skill, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Meanwhile, the U9 B Netball team began the day with a narrow 4-2 loss to The Banda, followed by an impressive draw against Brookhouse. A tough match against Hillcrest, where early injuries impacted the team, ended in a 5-3 defeat. The girls faced their most difficult match against BGE but bounced back with an excellent 3-0 win over St. Andrew's, Turi. The team showed great teamwork and spirit throughout the day, stepping up for one another when needed.

Both the rugby and netball teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts. The day was a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and the joy of sport. Whether it was scoring last-minute tries or overcoming injuries, every player showed growth and dedication. Well done to all the U9 pupils for their energy, enthusiasm, and excellent sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
