The highlight of the term to date was undoubtedly this year’s annual production, “West Side Story”, directed by our experienced drama teacher Eimear McEvoy Edwards. West Side Story is an American musical set in the mid 1950’s in which a modern day Romeo and Juliet are involved in New York street gangs. On the harsh streets of upper West Side, two gangs battle for control of the turf. The situation becomes complicated when a gang member falls in love with a rival sister. The Braeburn cast rehearsed tirelessly during, after school and at weekends under the committed direction of Mrs Eimear McEvoy Edwards and her support team. There were 3 main productions, all of which were incredibly entertaining and professional performances. The staff and the entire cast should be congratulated on their commitment to excellence in drama.
