2nd November 2022

The World Scholars Cup Global Round competition took place in Cape Town, South Africa with Braeburn School taking a delegation of 5 students to this year's Global round.

The students were:

  1. Lakshita- Year 9
  2. Advait -Year 9
  3. Bashir - Year 8
  4. Ananya - Year 8
  5. Khalid - Year 7

The competition aims at building up the students' Research skills, Public Speaking skills, and Writing skills. Students researched five given topics and wrote essays on given questions. Students then engaged in debates with scholars from different schools.

The competition gave students a good chance to build up their social skills through the scavenger hunt and scholar's ball.

While in South Africa, the students visited the Castle of Good Hope and had a tour of Table mountain. They also engaged in a cultural evening where they showcased their own culture to different scholars and learned more about different cultures from around the world;

allowing them to build up confidence in performing before a crowd.
