World Water Day

31st March 2022

World Water Day is held around the 22nd March each year. The aim of World Water Day is to celebrate and to bring attention to the importance of water, and make people aware that there are two billion people in the world who do not have safe, clean water to drink.

The theme of each year focuses on topics relevant to clean water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) which supports the UN targets of Sustainable Development Goal 6. This year’s theme is: “Groundwater: Making the invisible visible”.

Our school celebrated World Water Day on Monday, 28th March. We carried out different activities from a range of curriculum perspectives to raise awareness and encourage our pupils to protect the precious commodity. Pupils reflected on how they can use World Water Day as a starting point for change and make every day a World Water Day.
