On Friday 15 May the Year 12 Btec Hospitality students concluded their unit on Global Cuisine by hosting a mini-Banquet.

Over the last three months, students investigated different global cuisines, undertook research on what influenced each of these and tried their hand at some traditional dishes.

Each student had to compile a three-course meal of their own choice that represented cuisines from around the world. After a practice round, we invited two guests each, laid tables very elegantly and prepared these three-course menus masterchef-style.

The mezzanine in the Senior School Dining-Hall was transformed into a cosy little culinary experience with expectancy and fragrance hanging in the air. Each one of the students impressed us with their skills and the amazingly flavoured, well-balanced Five Star meals. The guests were extremely impressed and vowed to return should this pop-up restaurant ever surface again.

Well done to each student for pushing themselves beyond their comfort zone and trying new dishes and experiences. The future of the Hospitality Industry is bright!
