Year 1 launched their new Geography topic with a globe-trotting experience like no other. Arriving at school with carefully packed suitcases full of travel essentials, the children proudly carried handmade passports and embraced the full travel experience. From long airport queues to passing through check-in and security, their patience and enthusiasm set the tone for an exciting day ahead.
The journey officially began in the small theatre, transformed into an airplane cabin where a cheerful crew conducted a safety briefing and served in-flight refreshments. The young travellers then "visited" four countries, engaging in hands-on activities that immersed them in each location’s culture, climate, and geography. In Kenya, pupils made traditional clay pots; in India, they learned a lively Bollywood dance; in Spain, they crafted colourful castanets, and in China, they created delicate lanterns.
Year 1 would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the parents and prefects who generously gave their time and resources, helping to make this creative, cross-cultural day a truly unforgettable learning experience.
