Year 11 Business, Economics, BTEC Business and Travel & Tourism trip to Village Market

Our academic trip to the Village Market on Thursday 24th October was indeed an eventful one. Their management office staff took us through the history, structure, size, ownership, location decision and target market of the prestigious family mall. We also learned about some of their business strategies and how departments work together to create great experiences for their customer base, especially in light of the competitive nature of the business. We then had an interactive Q & A session after the presentations, where five people won shopping vouchers for answering questions correctly; we were also gifted gaming tickets, notebooks and the mall’s magazine.

Once the presentation was over we broke up into subject groups, took a tour of the facility to interact with workers in different companies around the mall. Staff from NCBA bank, Tribe hotel, Densey Travel, Phoenix Safaris, and some restaurants were happy to engage and answer questions about a range of topics. We had a lovely time enjoying the facility afterwards.
