This term, Year 1 kicked off their new Geography topic with a thrilling trip around the world. Equipped with travel suitcases packed with essential items, including weather accessories, the Year 1s embarked on a journey of exploration. Crafting their own passports added an authentic touch to the experience, as they endeavoured to keep them safe throughout the day's adventures.
Despite long queues reminiscent of airport lines, the children remained patient and excited as they passed through check-in and security. Once aboard the 'plane' in the small theatre, the friendly cabin crew ensured a safe flight, complete with refreshments, to each destination. From Kenya to India, Spain and China, pupils delved into diverse cultures, climates, and geographical wonders, engaging in activities like crafting clay pots, learning Bollywood dances, making castanets, and indulging in arts and crafts.
Year 1 extends gratitude to the parents whose volunteered time and resources made this memorable day of exploration possible. All aboard!
