Year 1’s Wild Adventure at the Nairobi Safari Walk

13th November 2025

On Thursday, 13th November, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting visit to the Nairobi Safari Walk to deepen their understanding of animals and practise using their Kiswahili names. The children were thrilled to spot a variety of wildlife, including kiboko (hippo), kifaru (rhino), and fisi (hyena).

They were especially fascinated to see cold-blooded reptiles basking in the sun—just as they had learned in class—and the mamba (crocodile) was doing exactly that. The carnivorous simba (lion) was enjoying its lunch, while the playful duma (cheetah) put on a thrilling show for them.

After lunch, the adventure continued at the Animal Orphanage, where pupils confidently identified animals such as the chui (leopard), nyati (buffalo), and ngiri (warthog), among others.

It was a truly memorable trip — a wild time was had by all!
