Year 2 Camp - A Night to Remember!

What happens when you mix excited 6 and 7 year olds, a bonfire, hot chocolate and sleeping bags? You get an unforgettable Year 2 Camp experience — full of laughter, adventure and memories that will last a lifetime!
Originally planned for Friday 20th June, the camp was postponed due to heavy rain — but nothing could dampen the children’s spirit! The much-anticipated event finally took place on Friday 27th June, starting in the evening after school and wrapped up on the Saturday morning.
The excitement began early — some children arrived proudly carrying their camping gear in the morning, while others had their bags dropped off by parents later in the day. By the time the school day ended, the anticipation had reached its peak! With bedding rolled, bags unpacked and big smiles all around, the children launched into an evening of fun — from football and dancing to drawing, colouring and bouncing on the ever-popular bouncy castle.
A special moment for many was sitting down together for their first-ever dinner at school — a milestone that made the whole experience feel both grown-up and magical. As night fell, the children gathered around a crackling bonfire, where they sang songs and enjoyed the classic camp treat of hot chocolate and marshmallows. It was a magical moment of togetherness, wrapped in warmth and wonder.
For many of our Year 2 pupils, this was their first night away from home — and they rose to the occasion with confidence, joy and just the right amount of squeals! The camp offered a wonderful opportunity to build independence, deepen friendships and see school from a whole new, adventurous angle.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing Year 2 teachers and teaching assistants, Mrs. Mihajlovic and support staff who made it all happen. Your care, energy and teamwork created a safe, joyful space where the children could truly shine.
