Year 2 Mini World Cup Festival!

On Tuesday 23rd June, inspired by the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, our Year 2 pupils enjoyed their own Mini World Cup Festival at Braeburn Garden Estate to celebrate the completion of their assessments alongside their Year 2 counterparts. Representing eight different countries, every child took to the pitch with enthusiasm, teamwork and determination, making the day a wonderful celebration of sport and friendship.
Each team played four exciting matches, with pupils cheering one another on and giving their all from the first whistle to the last. Congratulations to Scotland, who won all four of their matches to finish as tournament champions. After lunch, the children enjoyed more time playing together, making new friends and creating happy memories beyond the football pitch.
The festival was the perfect way to round off a fantastic year. More than just a football tournament, it celebrated resilience, teamwork and confidence, reminding us that the greatest victories come from trying your best, supporting others and having fun together.
