Year 2 pupils had a truly memorable Early Man Day, filled with laughter, creativity and wonderful learning experiences. The pupils arrived at school brimming with excitement, proudly dressed in their Early Man outfits and carrying spears, tools and other imaginative props that helped bring our topic to life. Some pupils even came dressed as archaeologists, ready to discover the secrets of the past, and the teachers were just as enthusiastic and joined in the fun too!
We began the morning with a special parade for parents, where the children proudly showed off their fantastic costumes. It was lovely to see their confidence and excitement as they walked and waved. Later, we had a second parade for our EYFS and Year 1 pupils, followed by a short dance party which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Back in the classrooms, the children took part in a range of engaging activities inspired by life in Early Man times. They tried their hand at weaving, created beautiful Early Man necklaces, and enjoyed craft activities such as making Early people using cone shapes. One of the highlights was cave painting, where the pupils explored how early humans might have expressed themselves through art.
The day was full of energy, creativity and joy, and it was wonderful to see the children so immersed in their learning. A heartfelt thank you to our parents for the incredible effort you put into the costumes and props. Your support helped make the day truly special for the pupils.
