Year 2’s Thrilling Exploration at the Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park

3rd March 2025

On Monday, 3rd March, Year 2 embarked on an exciting trip to the Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park, eager to see history, science and wildlife come to life! From the moment they arrived, curiosity and excitement filled the air as they explored different parts of the museum, each class setting off on their own unique adventure.

Pupils were fascinated to see the famous Turkana Boy skeleton, a highlight of their learning about Early Man, making incredible connections between their classroom lessons and real artefacts. They also explored Kenya’s rich history, discovering traditional clothing, old currency, and the lives of important historical figures who helped shape the nation.

Science came alive as they observed mammals and birds, learning more about Kenya’s incredible biodiversity. But the biggest thrill of the day came nearly at the end of the trip, when all of Year 2 came together to visit the Snake Park. Excitement (and a few shivers!) ran through the group as they came face-to-face with snakes, tortoises, turtles, crocodiles, alligators, fish and even a chameleon!

It was a memorable experience, filled with hands-on learning, fascinating discoveries and lots of fun. The pupils returned to school buzzing with excitement, eager to share their adventures and newfound knowledge!
