22nd September 2025
On Monday 22nd September, Year 3 set off on an exciting adventure to explore different places of worship as part of our World Views learning. The trip gave us the chance to experience new traditions first-hand, and the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Our first stop was the Pangani Gurdwara. We were welcomed so warmly and treated to hot, delicious bhajia and steaming mugs of hot chocolate, the perfect start to a chilly morning! Afterwards, we stepped into the prayer hall to learn all about Sikhism. To show respect, everyone removed their shoes and covered their heads. The children listened carefully and asked thoughtful questions about Sikh beliefs and practices.
Next, we visited the Mandir. The children were amazed by the colourful shrines, the beautiful statues, and the peaceful atmosphere inside. They discovered how Hindus make offerings and prayers, and many described the experience as “like walking into a rainbow!”
Our final stop was the Buddhist Temple in Loresho. Here, the children were introduced to the teachings of the Buddha and the practice of mindfulness and meditation. The calm environment gave everyone a chance to reflect, and several children commented on how relaxed they felt inside.
Throughout the day, Year 3 showed curiosity, respect and enthusiasm. They represented the school wonderfully, and we were so proud of the way they embraced each new experience. It was a trip full of learning, laughter and memories that we will carry with us for a long time.
