2nd February 2024
Last week, the Year 4 pupils embarked on an unforgettable trip to Rapids Camp, Sagana, split into two groups to maximise the thrill. Group 4B and 4S kicked off the adventure on Monday, January 29th, returning on Wednesday, while Group 4J and 4K followed suit, departing on Wednesday, and returning on Friday, February 2nd.
The trip was a whirlwind of enjoyment and activity, featuring camping along the scenic riverbank, heart-pounding rafting, exhilarating tubing, invigorating hiking, and an array of team-building activities. The experience became a platform for the Year 4s to not only have a blast but also to learn valuable life skills. For many of the Year 4s, this marked their first extended time away from home, making the adventure an important milestone in their personal growth.
The strategic planning and execution required during team-building activities fostered cooperation and problem-solving skills among the young participants. In addition, conquering fears was a prevalent theme throughout the trip, especially during gruelling hikes and heart racing river dives that pushed the limits of each pupil. As they navigated the challenges, the Year 4s discovered their capabilities and developed a newfound sense of independence, away from the comfort of home.
In the end, this trip proved to be a stepping stone for the Year 4 pupils, offering a taste of independent experiences that will serve them well in their future academic journey. As they progress through higher classes, more nights away from home await, building on the foundation of resilience and camaraderie forged during this remarkable adventure.
Thank you to the parents, teachers, and various service providers who made this a memorable experience for our young ones.
