3rd December 2024
On 3rd December, Year 4 pupils took an educational trip to Karura Forest, the forest within a city, as part of their science curriculum on living things and their habitats. The forest, with its rich biodiversity and varied ecosystems, provided the perfect setting for our Year 4s to explore how plants, animals, and insects thrive in different habitats. Guided by experts from Friends of Karura Forest, the pupils learned about the varied plant and animal species found there, from the towering trees that form the forest canopy to the small creatures that inhabit the forest floor.
They learned about the vital role of plants and animals in maintaining our environment’s health, and discussed the importance of conservation. The trip not only reinforced classroom lessons but also provided a great opportunity for our children to learn and play in such a beautiful and serene environment.
A huge thank you to Friends of Karura Forest for providing our pupils with a wealth of knowledge, as well as accommodating the trip despite the wet weather conditions.
