19th March 2025
On Tuesday, 18th March, our Year 4 pupils embarked on a fascinating educational trip to the Apollo Science Center in Limuru. The visit was a wonderful celebration of their Kiswahili lessons, as they applied their learning by identifying various foods in Kiswahili. The children enthusiastically spotted skuma wiki (kale), kahawa (coffee), chai (tea), nanasi (pineapple), and biringanya (eggplant), among many others. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
Beyond the language element, the pupils delved into exciting science experiments that sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of scientific principles. They also explored Kenya’s diverse rock types, gaining insight into the country’s rich geological landscape. Another highlight was the journey through the electronic museum, where they marveled at the evolution of technology, from the earliest televisions and telephones to modern fridges and cars.
However, the undisputed highlights of the day were the thrilling camel rides and the adventurous maze, which kept our Year 4s thoroughly engaged and entertained.
Overall, this trip was not just an enriching educational experience but also a day filled with excitement, discovery, and fun. The children returned to school brimming with enthusiasm and new knowledge, making it a truly memorable outing.
