23rd June 2025
On Monday 23rd June, Year 4 visited the Nairobi Railway Museum as part of their History topic on the Kenya-Uganda Railway. After learning in class about the railway’s beginnings and development over the past 120 years, the trip provided a fantastic opportunity to experience this history first-hand.
Pupils explored various locomotives and viewed items such as train seats, communication tools, and dining equipment. One of the most talked about moments was seeing and touching the claws of the infamous man-eating lions of Tsavo — an unforgettable highlight that brought their classroom learning to life. The day ended with an exciting train ride to Madaraka Station, giving the children a modern connection to a historic subject.
In the spirit of kindness and community, Year 4 pupils also raised money by doing chores at home. Their donations will go towards funding a similar trip for Grade 4 pupils from Kawangware Primary School — many of whom have never had the opportunity to take part in such an educational visit. It was a thoughtful gesture that showed just how much our pupils value learning and sharing it with others.
