Year 5 Discover Herbs, Spices and Everything Nice at Mlango Farm

29th March 2023

On Wednesday 29th March, Year 5 went on a trip to Mlango Farm, in order to build upon the knowledge they had acquired about the life processes of plants during science lessons. Firstly, they learned about the growing process of the various plants that are cultivated on the farm. This included tasting edible herbs and spices; many of which our pupils found surprisingly delicious.

Next, our inquisitive botanists got a chance to pot their own plants, which were later taken home. Then pupils took some of the leaves and plants that had been picked up around the farm, to feed the animals. The ducks were particularly curious and voracious recipients!

Overall a great time was had by all, and we are incredibly thankful to the staff and workers at the farm for making it such a memorable experience.
