Year 5’s Amazing Sun ‘n' Sand Adventure

21st June 2024

By Haneen, Year 5

On the day of the Mombasa trip, Tuesday 18th June, at 4:30 a.m., we were getting ready to hop on the bus for a fun week. I was super excited to get on the bus, but it took a long time because we had to do a head count so we wouldn't leave anyone behind. Finally, we got on the bus and went straight to the train station. On the way, I looked out the window and saw the beautiful sunrise. It looked so magical.

At last, we arrived at the train station. We had to get our suitcases checked and sniffed by the guard dogs. It didn't take long, so we showed our tickets to the kind workers who let us onto the train. I took my seat as we waited for my classmates to take theirs.

We reached Mombasa! We got off the train and onto our buses. We were going to stay at the Reef Hotel. We had four groups and different activities. We had beach activities, visited Fort Jesus, and went to Haller Park. It was so fun! We had a great time, but soon it was time to go back to Nairobi. Mombasa was one of my favourite trips.
