Year 6 Excursion to Paradise Lost

18th November 2022

On Friday 18th November, Year 6 went on their first trip of the academic year to Paradise Lost, a nature park located along Kiambu Road, Kiambu County. The purpose of this visit was to give pupils an opportunity to see and experience the economic activities that take place on natural features such as mountains, hills and water bodies.

Year 6s were able to put into perspective how the nature park was able to utilise the surrounding Mau Mau hideout caves as tourist attractions that earn money from visitors, the lake to host boat rides and extreme adventure activities for team building events, and a nature trail that takes nature and fitness enthusiasts on a refreshing journey up a hill and into a waterfall.

At the end of the trip, the pupils were exhausted but also energised from a highly action-packed day, and more importantly, filled with ideas of how they can one day create profitable economic activities from the world’s natural resources, all the while preserving their continued existence.
