Year 6 Rediscover Paradise Lost

24th November 2023

Our expedition began with an exhilarating boat ride, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure. Donned in reflective life jackets, we eagerly absorbed the safety rules, ensuring our voyage across the lake was as enjoyable as it was secure. Rowing our boats proved to be both thrilling and a testament to teamwork, as the shimmering waters mirrored the spirit of camaraderie that defined our group.

The second leg of our expedition led us along a nature trail, an undeniably muddy path that unfolded to reveal the splendour of a pristine lake. Here, we engaged in the timeless joy of skipping stones, each ripple echoing the laughter and shared experiences of our group. Our journey continued into the depths of stone age caves, where the inky darkness was dispelled by the glow of our head torches. In this moment, we connected with the past, imagining the bravery of Mau Mau fighters who sought refuge during colonial times.

Venturing further, we arrived at the enchanting animal farm, a haven of biodiversity. Among the inhabitants were majestic ostriches and gentle cows, each encounter fostering a connection with the natural world. Witnessing the meticulous process of milking a cow became a highlight, adding a touch of agricultural magic to our educational escapade.

This immersive trip not only offered thrilling adventures but also served as a gateway to Kenya's rich history and diverse physical features. As we navigated through each activity, the tapestry of our nation's past and present wove itself into our collective consciousness, leaving an indelible mark on our understanding of the world around us. Year 6 emerged from this expedition not just as students but as explorers, equipped with newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the wonders of Paradise Lost.
