Year 7 Deliver on Their Charity Goals

5th April 2023

In term 1, having been touched by the plight of refugees after reading a book that detailed the arduous life of a boy who becomes a refugee and later ends up in a children’s home, Year 7 pupils held a bake sale to raise money for a home within Nairobi called Viva Riruta Children's Orphanage.

On Wednesday 5th April, using the money raised from the bake sale, the Year 7s shopped for items the children's home needed, where they gained skills in shopping smart: searching for the best bargain and taking advantage of promotional offers. Thereafter, they delivered the items personally, interacting with children within the home, and sharing some snacks and laughter with them.

We are very proud of this student-led initiative, and look forward to seeing more community based initiatives from our pupils.
